Vaping or Smoking?

It is healthy? Is it better than the traditional cigar?

Vaping or Smoking?

If you have thought about quitting smoking, you are not alone. Almost seven out of 10 smokers say they want to stop. Quitting smoking is one of the best things you can do for your health: smoking damages almost every organ in your body, including your heart. Almost a third of deaths from heart disease are the result of smoking or passive smoking.

Myths of vaping

You may have heard that electronic cigarettes help you quit smoking and quit nicotine addiction. They are not damaged. That does not cause repercussions. Well, here we are going to tell you the truth:

Is vaping less harmful than smoking traditionally?

No. Both contain chemicals. Electronic cigarettes heat nicotine (extracted from tobacco), flavorings and all the chemicals it brings to create a water vapor that is what you inhale. Regular cigarettes contain up to 7,000 chemicals, which are mostly toxic. While we don't know exactly what chemicals are in electronic cigarettes, we do know that it contains many chemicals.

Is Vaping Bad for my health?

Nicotine is present in electronic cigarettes and we know that it is highly addictive and very toxic. It causes you to continue smoking and suffer withdrawal symptoms if you do not inhale. Nicotine increases blood pressure and increases adrenaline, which increases your heart rate and the likelihood of having a heart attack.

Is Vaping Bad for me?

There are many unknowns about vaping, including what chemicals form the vapor and how they affect long-term physical health. What worries doctors is that it is not yet known how many chemicals it contains, but it is known that it has already caused damage.

Are electronic cigarettes as addictive as traditional ones?

Yes, since both contain nicotine. What's worse, many electronic cigarettes have even more nicotine than they would get from a tobacco product: since extra-strong cartridges can be purchased, which have a higher concentration of nicotine.

Can I really not quit smoking if I use electronic cigarettes?

Although they have been marketed as a smoking cessation aid, electronic cigarettes have not received approval from the US Food and Drug Administration. A recent study found that most people who intended to use electronic cigarettes to quit the nicotine habit ended up smoking both traditional and electronic cigarettes.

The worrying thing is that the majority of young people are buying these devices thinking that it does not harm them. It is even known that more than 40% of young people who vape, had never smoked.

Remember that there is only one body and you have to take care of it.

Do you want to quit smoking?

There is a strong link between smoking and cardiovascular disease and between smoking and cancer. But the sooner you quit, the faster your body can recover and repair.

Talk to your doctor about what program or tools to quit smoking would be best for you.
